Runners follow a point-to-point course for the half marathon, which starts in Gig Harbor, across the waterway known as the Tacoma Narrows. From there, runners head across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, which has spectacular views as well as a long uphill and a long downhill on the way over. Once runners make their way into the city, they run through a combination of residential neighborhoods and city streets before crossing the finish line near the University of Washington.
Note: The course map above provides the approximate route for the race. Though every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, changes are sometimes made to race routes due to weather conditions, road closures or other circumstances that can require a course to be changed.
