Orlando Xtreme Half Marathon, 10K & 5K

Saturday, February 20, 2016 • Orlando, FL • Course Map

Set for its 12th annual running this year, Florida’s Orlando Xtreme Half Marathon moves to an all-new venue for 2015, leaving the off-road trail terrain of Orlando Wetlands Park where the race had been run for years, to the lush trails of Hal Scott Regional Preserve and Park, whose more than 9,300 acres straddle the Econlockhatchee River in east Orange County.

The race is set to take runners on course that starts inside the park’s interior and run on berm roads and single-track trails through wide-open fields, which is filled with a combination of flatwood forests and open prairies, and where runners might expect to catch a glimpse of wildlife like bald eagles, gopher tortoises, bobcats, and river otters, among many others.

One of Florida’s newer and smaller running events, the race attracts just a few hundred runners in all events combined each year. Runners leave the starting line for the official start of the half marathon at 7:30 AM, and an awards ceremony will follow each race.
