Ireland > Mizuno Cork Half Marathon
Cork, Ireland

Sunday, September 14, 2008

Event Details

Gearing up for its 18th annual running in the late summer of 2009, the Mizuno Cork Half Marathon is organized by the locally-based St. Finbarr's Athletic Club, and takes runners on an out-and-back course that starts in Blarney, just outside Cork City, and follows a course that runs through the villges of Waterloo and Grenagh before heading back to the finish near the start in Blarney. Nearly 500 runners finished the race in 2007, and just as many are expected in attendance at the race's running in 2009, which coincides with the end of the "high season" weather-wise in Ireland, when the summer's sunnier and warmer days are giving way to chillier, rainier weather ahead in the fall.

Race Weather & Climate

Located near the southern coast of Ireland, just over 250 kilometers from Dublin and about 123 kilometers south of the Shannon Airport, the city of Cork typically experiences milder and warmer weather conditions than the northern parts of the country, with more humidity and precipitation throughout the year. In September, the city's average monthly temperatures range about 12.8°C (55°F) for the month.

€20 if registered by September 6, 2008
€25 after Sept. 6

Registration for the late summer 2009 running of the Mizuno Cork Half Marathon is not yet open. Please check back later for updated information on how to sign up for the race.
