Details
Gearing up for its 18th annual running in the late summer of 2009, the
Mizuno Cork Half Marathon is organized by the locally-based St.
Finbarr's Athletic Club, and takes runners on an out-and-back course
that starts in Blarney, just outside Cork City, and follows a course
that runs through the villges of Waterloo and Grenagh before heading
back to the finish near the start in Blarney. Nearly 500 runners
finished the race in 2007, and just as many are expected in attendance
at the race's running in 2009, which coincides with the end of the
"high season" weather-wise in Ireland, when the summer's sunnier and
warmer days are giving way to chillier, rainier weather ahead in the
fall.
