Brooklyn Greenway Half Marathon & 5K

Set for its 7th annual running this fall along the Brooklyn Waterfront, the Brooklyn Greenway Half Marathon is set to take runners on a tour of New York’s most iconic sights, including the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan and Williamsburg bridges, as well as a run through parks like Brooklyn Bridge Park and the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

By participating in The Brooklyn Greenway Half & 5K, you will be supporting Brooklyn Greenway Initiative, the non profit organization committed to the development, establishment and long term stewardship of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway.

When complete, this 14-mile landscaped route for pedestrians, runners and cyclists will connect neighborhood parks and open spaces from Greenpoint to Bay Ridge.

From the starting line on Columbia Street, between Degraw and Kane Streets, and from there head south along Columbia into the Red Hook neighborhood.

As you run, you’ll take in unique and memorable urban views including the skylines of midtown and lower Manhattan, the iconic Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridges, and run through city, state and industrial parks including Brooklyn Bridge Park and the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Race Weather & Climate

As one of New York City’s five boroughs, Brooklyn experiences cool to mild weather in October, averaging 3.5 inches of rain for the month. Temperatures can range as low as 27° (1988) and as high as 85° (1954).

  • $60 – $90 for the half marathon
