Charlotte RaceFest Half Marathon & 10K

Saturday, April 6, 2024 • Charlotte, NC • Course Map

More than 2,000 runners cross the finish line each year in all races combined at the Charlotte RaceFest, whose half marathon course takes runners on an out-and-back loop route through the neighborhoods south of downtown near Myers Park here in the “Queen City.”

The race takes runners on a course filled with rolling hills that starts and finishes in Charlotte’s SouthPark shopping and entertainment district, on Barclay Downs Drive. From there, participants follow Barclay Downs northward until they meet up with Runnymeade Lane, where they turn left and head along the southern edge of Myers Park Country Club on their way toward the intersection with Highway 16, also known as Providence Road.

This next section of the race features its longest straightaway stretch, which unfolds for nearly the next four miles along Providence Road until meeting up with Old Providence Road.

Runners follow the turn along this, the southernmost point in the race, and then begin heading northward again along Sharon View and later along Valencia Terrace. After a few more turns through this section of the city, the final stretch of the race takes runners along Ferncliff Road in toward the finish line at SouthPark Mall.

Aside from the shopping mall at the race’s start and finish lines, much of the course features tree-lined roads and highways, some of which feature the hills for which Charlotte is known, and all of which unfold along paved surfaces.

The green parklands along the course will also give runners a clear picture of the mission of the race’s beneficiary, the Partners for Parks Foundation, which seeks to promote awareness and to protect, maintain and expand urban parks throughout the Mecklenburg County area, in which Charlotte lies.
