Set for its 4th annual running this spring, the Race 13.1 Greensboro Half Marathon returns to its out-and-back course in northwest Greensboro, a few miles of which unfold along the Bicentennial Greenway, a 14-1/2-mile-long trail for runners, walkers and cyclists.
The race starts and finishes at the Shops at Friendly Center, an outdoor shopping mall just to the northwest of downtown Greensboro, with the starting line between the Apple Store and Regal Cinemas.
From there, the course features a 40% decrease in elevation, with a large portion of the race unfolding along the scenic Lake Daniel and Latham Park greenways, all the way to the half-way turnaround point at Walter Hines Page High School.
After they make the turn, the course then brings runners back in reverse along the route they’ve just run, all the way back to the Shops at Friendly Center for the race finish.
The race is open to a total of 3,000 entrants — 1,500 in the half marathon, and 750 each in the 10K and 5K.
