Cottage Grove Half Marathon

Sunday, June 8, 2025 • Cottage Grove, OR • Course Map

The Row River Trail, a 15.6-mile trail in western Oregon, is the highlight of the Cottage Grove Half Marathon, which will observe its 6th annual running in 2025 to benefit the United Way of Lane County.

The out-and-back course begins at Trailhead Park and leads runners east along the Row River Trail. While running the half marathon along the abandoned rail line that became the Row River Trail, runners will get the chance to observe nature and history, passing such natural landmarks as Dorena Lake before crossing the finish line in downtown Cottage Grove.

The course is fast with few uphill segments, race organizers note; in fact, most of the elevation on the course is downhill. The half marathon will be open for four hours, making the course accessible to walkers as well as runners.

The 2021 race features a self-start to increase social distancing. Half marathoners can start anytime between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM, while 10K runners can start between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
