Details
Organized and run by the Port City Pacers, the Mobile, Ala.-based
running group that puts on a number of local races throughout the year,
the Holiday Half Marathon & 8K Run has become something of a
tradition in the Point Clear area, as it has attracted runners from
around the state for the past several years.
The out-and-back race
starts and finishes at Point Clear's Mullet Point Park, and takes
runners down to Pelican Point along County Road 1 for most of the race,
with a brief detour onto Highway 27 for an out-and-back three miles,
and then back onto CR 1 for the remainder of the race, which runners
follow along the course they just ran back toward the finish line.

Weather & Climate
Set in Alabama's southwestern corner, just across the Mobile Bay from
the city of Mobile, the small town of Point Clear typically experiences
mild to cool weather conditions in the early weeks of winter, with
relatively low precipitation compared to the summer and fall months. In
December, average monthly temperatures range between 63°F and
42°F, while precipitation amounts average around 4.4 inches for
the month.
