Details
Runners will get a chance to run the fast, flat streets of this
southern Alabama town that's home to Troy University at the inaugural
running of the Troy Odyssey Half Marathon & 10K, which will
feature an out-and-back course that starts and finishes at the
university's football field, Movie Gallery Stadium, where runners will
also get to see themselves on the stadium jumbotron as they cross the
finish line.
Open to both runners and walkers, both races start at the stadium, and
the half marathon takes runners on numerous twists and turns through
the city, along tree-lined streets through the university's campus and
through its surrounding neighborhoods. All proceeds from the race will
go to benefit the locally based nonprofit Pike Region Child Advocacy
Center, which works to prevent and respond to child abuse with a range
of counseling and support services.
