California >  Avenue of the Vines Half Marathon
Lodi, CA

Date

Sunday, May 18, 2008

Event Details

Just over a thousand runners took part in the spring 2007 running of the Avenue of the Vines Half Marathon in the Lodi/Stockton area of Northern California, about 50 miles south of Sacramento. Set along gentle county roads through Lodi's grape vines and mustard seed fields, this flat, fast course starts and ends at the Woodbridge Winery in Lodi and follows a rectangular loop course around the nearby countryside.

Considered a walker-friendly course by race organizers, it is also attractive for all runner skill levels, thanks to its flat course and mild climate. At the finish, all participants receive a free t-shirt, finishers medal and commemorative wine glass, to enjoy the free wine tasting at the finish line post-race party.

Race Weather & Climate

With an average of just over half an inch of rainfall during the month, May is one of the Lodi area's driest months of the year. The temperature tends to be moderately warm but can swing widely, as May temps average between 50°F and 81°F.
