One of the most gorgeous, scenic road races anywhere in the United
States, the Big Sur Half Marathon follows an out-and-back course
through the city of Monterey with views of the Pacific Ocean and many
of the area's most beautiful views, including the historic Cannery Row
and Pacific Grove areas. The course surface consists of both paved and
trail surfaces (including Monterey's Recreation Trail), and takes
runners through areas like Monterey's beautiful residential
neighborhoods as well as along the city's picturesque coastline.
