The Fontana Day's Run Half Marathon, which race organizers bill as "the
world's fastest half marathon," also includes a 5K Run/Walk, a Family
Fitness Walk and a Children's Run/Dash. From the starting line at
Applewhite Campground in Lytle Creek, the race takes runners through
six miles of fast, steep downhill running through the scenic San
Bernardino National Forest and Lytle Creek Community. The remainder of
the course (7.3 miles) is a fast, moderate to gradual downhill course.
From start to finish, runners will experience an elevation drop of
2,125 feet.
