Event Details

A selective, elite race for trail running enthusiasts, Redwood City's Skyline Ridge Half Marathon & 10K is open to just 200 runners each year, so aspiring participants are advised to register early. The races take runners through the hilly hiking trails of the Santa Cruz Mountains and feature panoramic views of the ridge tops, open meadows and forests along the course. Be ready for a challenging run: the half marathon course features an elevation change (both climb and descent) of 1,600 feet.

Featuring an out-and-back course through rugged, mountainous terrain, the race starts and finishes at the Skyline Ridge Open Space parking lot, and takes runners along the park's Bay Area Ridge Trail and Grizzly Flat Spur Trail, as well as along portions of Skyline Ridge Road. Race organizers add that there is a three-hour time limit for the race, which means that runners in the 13.1-mile half marathon will need to keep a pace of at most 13:45 minutes per mile.

Race Weather & Climate

Spring brings warming temperatures with occasional rainfall to Redwood City, but temperatures can remain quite cool especially in early spring. In early April, Redwood City temperatures average between 45°F and 70°F.
