Details
The Durango Double Marathon, Half Marathon & Relay -- so named
because participants have a chance to run a trail race on Saturday and
a road race on Sunday -- are designed to be runner-friendly, without
overly difficult hills or steep elevation changes.
The San Juan Hills Half Marathon starts at Fort Lewis College on
College Mesa, follows a gentle elevation drop as the course follows to
Main Avenue, with the rest of the route full of flat to gently rolling
terrain.

Nestled in the mountains of southwest Colorado, Durango can get quite
cold in the early weeks of fall,
as October temperatures average between 31°F
and 66°F. The area also sees an average of just over 2 inches
of precipitation during the month.
