Details
Located just over 50 miles south of the well-known ski resort of
Steamboat Springs, the Kremmling Trail Races (which includes both a
half marathon and a 10K race) take place through some of this
mountainous area's most scenic terrain. The half marathon starts at the
Kremmling town square and continues up the area known as the Kremmling
Cliffs, where runners, once they reach the top of the cliffs, are
treated to spectacular views of nearby Gore Canyon and the Eaglesnest
Wilderness Area.
The course then continues along a flatter route for the next few miles,
crossing Muddy Creek and taking participants along a
one-and-a-half-mile cow track, which joins with a dirt road with a
slight downhill incline. The rest of the course takes runners through
the public land areas of Red Mountain, along rolling hills and single-
and double-track trails, with one last major uphill.
Both runners and walkers are welcome to participate in the 10K race;
the half-marathon race is open to runners only, due to the time periods
involved with participants out on the trail. Locals and visitors
interested in participating in running events in the area should also
note that earlier in the year (in June), there is another Kremmling
running event -- the Kremmling Classic 5, 10 and 3-mile Fun Run/Walk,
designed to coincide with the "Kremmling Days" festival over the same
weekend each year.

Weather & Climate
The early pre-fall weeks can bring widely varying weather to the
Kremmling area, as September temperatures average between 34°F
and 70°F. The area tends to see only moderate precipitation
during the month, with an average of just under 1.2 inches of rainfall
in September.

$25 for both the half-marathon and 10K trail run

Online registration for the summer 2009 running of the half marathon at
Colorado's Kremmling Trail Half Marathon is not yet open. Please

race.
