Event Details

Part of the ZOOMA Women's Race Series that also features half marathon events in the spring and fall in Austin, Annapolis and Atlanta, the ZOOMA Denver Half Marathon & 5-Mile Run takes runners through the Stapleton area just east of downtown Denver, along a course that unfolds through city parks and along the Sand Creek Greenway in Aurora, just outside Denver.

Both the half marathon and the five-mile race follow out-and-back courses that start and finish in Stapleton's Central Park, just off Martin Luther King Boulevard and Central Park Boulevard. From there, the race route winds its way through local neighborhoods in this community built with sustainability in mind to be environmentally friendly, where recycling is commonplace among the area's homeowners and all homes are built to be Energy Star qualified.

The race also makes its way past Bluff Lake along Havana Way, into and around Sand Creek Park, just a stone's throw from the green, tree-lined fairways of nearby Fitzsimmons Golf Course. Runners follow the course as they make their way along both sides of the creek that cuts through the center of the park, and then merges once again with Havana Way for the home stretch of the race, which takes runners back to the finish at Stapleton's Central Park.

Runners can expect a fast and flat course through the Stapleton and Aurora area's city and neighborhood streets, and while the race is designed to celebrate and promote athletic involvement and fitness among women and girls of all ages, the race is open to both women and men.
