Event Details

Featuring a course race organizers describe as flat and scenic, the double-loop Iron Horse Half Marathon begins and ends on Iron Horse Boulevard in Simbury, approximately a half-mile north of the intersection with Drake Hill Road. With views of the town's quaint shops and restaurants, the course takes runners along the Farmington River and the farmlands of Simsbury. In 2004, the race was selected as one of "Bart's Best Races" in Runner's World magazine.


Race Weather & Climate

Early summer weather in the Simsbury area tends to be mild to warm, with temperatures averaging between 57°F and 80°F in June. Come prepared for some rainfall, as area precipitation averages nearly 4 inches during the month.
