Details
Organized by the Norwalk running group known as the Lightfoot Runners,
the Sam Elpern Memorial Half Marathon is part of the group's summer
running series and follows a scenic loop course through shaded
residential neighborhoods along the local area known as the Merrit
Parkway, from the starting and finish line at Norwalk's Fox Run
Elementary School. Nearly 150 runners crossed the finish line at the
race's
September 2008 running, which was postponed for a week due to inclement
weather but enjoyed mild and overcast weather a week later, which was
perfect for running.

Weather & Climate
Nestled near the coast along the southwestern corner of Connecticut,
just over an hour's drive from New York City, the town of Norwalk can
see sunny and warm weather conditions in the late summer, as well as
sometimes moderately cool conditions. In September, average monthly
temperatures range between 75°F and 53°F, while
rainfall totals average about 4.54 inches for the month.

$15 for pre-registered runners
