Florida > Beachside Half Marathon for a Healthy Start
Vero Beach,
FL
Date
Saturday, October 17, 2009
Event
Details
Designed to raise both funds and awareness of the mission of Florida's
Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition, the Beachside Half
Marathon for a Healthy Start takes runners on an out-and-back course
that starts and finishes at Riverside Park in Vero Beach, and also
includes a one-mile fun run for kids.
Thanks to its location along Florida's coastline, the course is largely
fast and pancake-flat throughout, and takes runners along the city
streets and neighborhoods of the Riomar community across the Indian
River from Vero Beach. Many stretches of the course include views of
the water, both of the river on one side and the ocean on the other,
and runners will finish the event back at Riverside Park. Runners will
have four hours to complete the 13.1 miles of the half marathon, which
will start at 6:30 AM, followed by the fun run at 8:30 AM.
