Florida > Coral Springs Half Marathon & Women's Wellness 5K
Coral Springs, FL • Saturday, March 30, 2013 • Course Map

Set for its first-ever running right as winter is giving way to spring here in south Florida, the Coral Springs Half Marathon and Women's Wellness 5K Run/Walk is part of a weekend filled with events to mark the 50th anniversary of the city's founding, which organizers are calling the Coral Springs "Half Century Celebration."
Runners in both the half marathon and the 5K will start the race at the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex on Sportsplex Drive, and from there they'll head out onto a fast, flat and paved course that winds through this city of about 120,000 residents that lies along the edge of Everglades National Park, less than an hour's drive from downtown Miami and the beaches of nearby Fort Lauderdale.
Organizers say participants can expect a flat course with some long straight stretches, and that runners in the half marathon will need to be able to finish the course within 4 hours, which means a pace of 18 minutes per mile or faster.
Race Weather & Climate
Nestled along the edge of the East Coast Buffer of the Everglades in south Florida, about 40 miles north of Miami, Coral Springs typically sees March temperatures that average between 80°F and 62°F, while precipitation amounts average about 3 inches, making March the city's fourth-driest month of the year.
On the day of the race (March 30), the average high is 82°F and the average low is 64°F.
