With a course designed to accommodate runners from a wide variety of age and experience levels, the Gem of the Hills Half Marathon begins and ends at Clermont's National Training Center, and uses both roads and paved fitness trails around the facility. The out-and-back course includes a few rolling hills and travels through residential areas near the center, and the event also includes a 5K run.
