Set for its first-ever running as fall is giving way to winter here along the shores of South Florida's Atlantic coastline -- not that you'd really be able to tell the difference, as the weather can still be quite warm here this time of year -- Miami Beach plays host in December 2011 to the all-new Dodge Latin Music Miami Beach Half Marathon, the final of several new Rock & Roll-themed marathon and half marathon events taking place across the country in 2011.
Runners in Miami Beach's Latin Music Half Marathon will get to enjoy a fast, flat course that features the gorgeous scenery for which this island city is so well-known, from the palm trees and sandy beaches that lead out into the blue-green ocean water to the gleaming beachfront skyscraper hotels that tower over the sun worshippers along the beach.
Live Latin music bands will be stationed at every mile marker along the race course, which is set to take runners along 13.1 miles that feature plentiful views of the ocean.
