Details
More than 300 runners and walkers crossed the finish line in both races combined at the fall 2008 running
of the Boston Mini Marathon & 5K, a 13.1-mile race event for runners and
walkers that takes place as part of the town's annual autumn festival
over the Halloween weekend, which also includes a haunted house for
kids, live entertainment and a cook-off in the town's Watt Park.
The Boston Mini Marathon races include a half marathon for runners and
a 5K for walkers as well as a half marathon relay and a one-mile fun
run for those who don't feel quite up to the mini marathon's 13.1
miles. All of the races in the event follow an out-and-back route that
winds through the neighborhoods and outlying areas along the rolling
hills of Boston, and share the same starting and finish lines, at the
offices of Commerical Bank on West Jefferson Street.

Weather & Climate
Located in southern central Georgia, just a few miles north of the
Florida state line and roughly a four-hour drive south from Atlanta,
the small town of Boston typically experiences some of its mildest and
driest conditions of any time throughout the year during the month the
race is held. In October, the town's average monthly temperatures range
between 81°F and 56°F, while rainfall amounts average
just over 3 inches for the month.
