A late winter fixture on the metro Atlanta road race calendar, and often run in quite cold and blustery conditions thanks to the time of year, Snellville's Run the Reagan Half Marathon, 10K & 5K welcomes about 3,500 runners each year for all three races combined, along a course that unfolds along the Ronald Reagan Parkway just north of Snellville, near the city's Emory Eastside Medical Center.
Runners can choose between the half-marathon, 10K, 5K or 1-mile fun run, and all of the races start at the corner of Ronald Reagan Parkway and Presidential Circle in Snellville, Georgia. The race courses are moderately challenging, with no traffic as Ronald Reagan Parkway is closed the day of the race.
The half course takes runners along paved surfaces throughout the entire race -- this out-and-back race is run along the Reagan Parkway. Water stops are found every 1-1/2 miles along the course, and medical attention and port-a-johns are available at various convenient points.
Proceeds from the race go to benefit two of Gwinnett County's more prominent non-profit organizations -- the local chapter of YoungLife, the Christian organization that works with young people and teenagers across the nation, and the Gwinnett Community Clinic, which receives more than 3,000 patient visits each year from families around the county.

Weather & Climate
Located just to the northeast of Atlanta, roughly a half-hour drive from the city's downtown, the city of Snellville typically experiences cool and often cold weather conditions in the late winter season, with some of its wettest weather of the year on average. In February, the city's average monthly temperatures range between 58°F and 33°F, while precipitation amounts average just over 4.6 inches for the month. On the day of the race (Feb. 18), the average high is 58°F and the average low is 34°F.
