Details
As its name suggests, the City of Trees Marathon & Half
Marathon takes participants on a tour of Boise's most beautiful and
historic neighborhoods, along tree-lined streets, through a number of
city parks and across the Boise River. Both races have their starting
and finish lines at the city's Owyhee Plaza Hotel, and take runners
past the historic Train Depot and down Capitol Boulevard, within sight
of the majestic state capitol building.
For both the full and the half marathon, the courses are loop courses
and are mostly flat and fast, with one gradual uphill (on Americana
Boulevard) followed by a gradual downhill along Capitol Boulevard. They
feature different starting times, however -- the full marathoners start
at 8:00 AM, while the half participants start at 9:00 AM.
