Details
Part of Boise's City of Trees Marathon Association series of race
events, the Fit For Life Half Marathon (which also includes a 10K and a
5K road race) features an out-and-back course described by race
organizers as a "greenbelt course," through the tree-lined areas and
greenspaces of the city. From the start time of 7:00 AM (to get the
races in before the warm July weather becomes too much of a factor),
all events begin at the Albertson's General Offices on East Parkcenter
Boulevard and take runners west across Boise's Friendship Bridge, then
around the north side of the city's greenbelt and back to the finish
line area.
A number of local running clubs and organizations participate in the
event alongside visitors, including local high school teams, Girls On
The Run, Boise Fit and the Hash House Harriers. Overall, the course is
mainly fast and flat through the streets of the city and around Julia
Davis and Ann Morrison Parks, and run entirely along paved surfaces.
