Challenging and known for the natural beauty of the nearby forests, the peaks of the Grand Tetons off in the distance and wildlife native to this area just west of Yellowstone National Park, Idaho's Mesa Falls Marathon & Half Marathon offers point-to-point courses for both its races, which start in the mountainous areas just north of Ashton and finish in the town center.

Nearly 600 runners and walkers crossed the finish line in all races combined at the 2010 race (when these photos were taken) including 277 finishers in the half marathon alone.
