Event Details

The slow-moving waters of the Boise River are runners' constant companion as they follow its twists and turns along the race course at the running of Idaho's See Jane Run Half Marathon & 5K in Boise, a companion event to the now four-year-old See Jane Run Half Marathon in Alameda, Calif. Organized by the California-based atheltic store chain of the same name as a benefit for Susan G. Komen For The Cure®, the race gives participants an opportunity to train for and run in their first half-marathon while also raising money to fight breast cancer.

Planned as a race to encourage and celebrate women's athleticism, the 13.1-mile race features an out-and-back loop course that starts and finishes at Boise's Julia Davis Park and takes runners along a mostly flat course (with a few rolling hills mixed in) along the roads and trails that run parallel to the Boise River. Along the way, runners will also pass through a number of Boise's local parks and urban greenspace areas, like Baggley Park, Municipal Park, Barber Park and will run through the center of Warm Springs Golf Course, which lies along the banks of the northern side of the river about a fourth of the way through the race.

Runners make the half-way turn in the race as they make their way along the edges of Barber Park, and then follow both East Parkview Drive and East Parkcenter Drive. The course winds its way through these East Boise neighborhoods as it continues taking runners northwest toward the campus of Boise State University, along the edges of the river for most of the last few miles of the race along the Greenbelt. The final stretch of the race takes the field across the bridge at 8th Street, passing by Boise's Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial, and then finishes back in the center of Julia Davis Park.

In addition to the half marathon -- which starts at 8:00 AM -- the See Jane Run Boise race will also feature a 5K race for runners and participants with strollers who wish to take their small children along for the ride at the race, and a one-mile race for kids at 10:30 AM.
