Great Western Half Marathon > Course Map
From the starting line at St. Charles's Leroy Oakes Forest Preserve, runners follow the winding park road to the Great Western Trail, which takes them past West Side Park and parallels Illinois Route 64 for the next couple of miles (as well as the race's last couple of miles). After the turnaround, the course then heads back through the forest preserve along the trail route.
Note: The course map above provides the approximate route for the race. Though every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, changes are sometimes made to race routes due to weather conditions, road closures or other circumstances that can require a course to be changed.
