Details
Featuring a mostly fast and flat course, with a few gentle rolling
hills thrown in, Shreveport's YMCA Half Marathon & 5K Road Race
takes runners through Riverview Park along the jogging trails that run
alongside the Red River that cuts through downtown Shreveport.
Both the half-marathon and the 5K take runners out and back on
the jogging trail along the river and feature beautiful views of the
city and the river along
the way. The event starts at 8:00 AM for the half marathon and 8:15 AM
for those running the 5K.
Race
Weather & Climate
Located in the northwestern corner of the state, about 15 miles from
the Texas-Louisiana border, the city of Shreveport normally sees
moderate-to-cool temperatures in November,
averaging between 45°F and 67°F. Be prepared for rain,
however -- the city sees an average of just under 5 inches of rainfall
during the month.

2008 fees:
$15 for pre-registered runners
$20 on the day of the race
