Details
Planned as the concluding race event for a 40-week training program
that bears the same name and draws runners from across the state who
participate in training teams leading up to the day of the race, the
Marathon Makeover Marathon & Half
Marathon will be run for the first time ever in the fall of 2009 in
Ridgeland, Miss., a town that lies just a short drive north from the
state's capital city of Jackson.
Both the full and the half marathon will start at Ridgeland's North
Park Mall, just off Interstate 55 and Highway 51. From there, the
course takes runners on a route through Ridgeland's city streets and
residential neighborhoods, and back to the mall for the finish. Both
races also are open to both runners and walkers, and those running the
half will have four hours to complete their race, while those running
the full marathon will have eight hours to complete their race's 26.2
miles.
