Details
Featuring seven different races that all end at a common finish line on
Park Avenue in downtown Helena, the Governor's Cup Marathon &
Half Marathon attracts anywhere from 5,000 to 6,000 participants each
year. The half marathon course route takes runners through the city's
Great Northern Town Center and across the campus of Carroll College,
before heading west and north into the picturesque Helena valley. The
half follows an out-and-back loop course that ends near the starting
line downtown, and the weekend's events also include a marathon relay,
and 10K and 5K races.

The Helena area tends to see mild to moderate warm weather conditions
in the early summer, with temperatures averaging between 48°F
and 75°F in June. The area sees light precipitation this time
of year, averaging less than 2 inches during the month.
