Details
This year marks the 18th annual running of the Mighty Mo Half Marathon
& 8K, which starts and finishes at Scenic Park in downtown
South Sioux City. The event, which also includes a 1-Mile "Fun Run" for
kids, features an early starting time of 6:30 AM, takes runners on a
tour of the eastern side of the city, criss-crossing streets and
neighborhood areas and taking runners well within view of the Missouri
River, which separates the city from Sioux City, Iowa, just to the
northeast. Each of the events takes runners along routes made up
entirely of paved surfaces, along South Sioux City's streets.

Late summer weather in the South Sioux City area can get hot, as August
temperatures average between 61°F and 84°F. The area
also sees occasional rainfall this time of year, with about 2.9 inches
of precipitation during the month.
