Event Details

Though it has a reputation as a flat city on the plains of Nebraska, Omaha actually offers a number of climbing and descending hills throughout the course for the Omaha Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K, and plenty of wind to provide something of a challenge for runners along the route. All three races in the event -- the full, half-marathon and the 10K -- begin at the city's Omaha Civic Auditorium, then run past the ConAgra International Campus and southward toward the Henry Doorly Zoo to the turaround point on 13th Street.

After the turnaround, runners head back northward toward the ConAgra campus on their way back to the Omaha Civic Auditorium, which marks the finish line for the half-marathon participants and the half-way point for those running the full. The half marathon course is largely flat terrain, and is made up entirely of paved surfaces along Omaha's city streets.

Race Weather & Climate

The early days of fall tend to bring mild to moderately warm weather to the Omaha area, as September sees temperatures averaging between 54°F and 77°F. The month brings occasional rainfall, with an average of just under 3.2 inches of precipitation.
