Details
A fast, flat road race with beach and oceanfront views are the
signature of the Ocean Running Club’s Seaside Half Marathon
& 5K, which welcomes runners and walkers for this race across
the Jersey boardwalk and into Island Beach State Park. Not to be
confused with the event by the same name in Seaside, Florida, this race
is run by many participants with an eye on gearing up for fall
marathons, and celebrated its 30th annual running in 2007.
The terrain for this out-and-back race is a combination of flat, sturdy
wooden surfaces (the boardwalk sections of the course, which route
through Seaside Park) and paved city streets along Seaside
Heights’s iconic Jersey shoreline. The event also includes a
5K run, which begins just minutes after the 10:00 AM start time for the
half-marathon.

Weather & Climate
The month of October typically brings cooling weather conditions to the
Seaside Heights area, with temperatures that average between
67°F and 44°F. Rainfall is always a possibility, as the
month averages 3.55 inches of precipitation. Conditions for the 2007
race were sunny and windy.
Fees
Half-marathon:
$20 if registered by Oct. 12, 2007
$30 after Oct. 12 through the day of the race
5K:
$17 if registered by Oct. 12
$20 after Oct. 12 through race day

Registration for the 2008 running of the Seaside Half Marathon is
