Event Details

More than 1,000 runners, walkers and volunteers descend on Syracuse's Long Branch Park and the surrounding park environs around Onondaga Lake every year for the Arc of Onondaga Half Marathon, run to raise funds and awareness about the organization's mission to help those with developmental disabilities. The race, which also includes a 5K and a Family Fun Walk, celebrated its 13th annual running in 2007, and treats participants to a fast and largely flat course through nearby Liverpool and along the banks of Onondaga Lake Park.

For the first time in its 13-year history, the race opened the field in 2007 to participants with wheelchairs and other assistive devices, who competed for places and prizes along the same USA Track & Field-certified course as the rest of the field.

Race Weather & Climate

The waning days of summer bring cooler & milder weather conditions to the Syracuse area, with temperatures averaging between 51°F and 71°F. Come prepared for wet weather, however, as September is the city's wettest month on average, with about 4.15 inches of rainfall for the month.

Fees

$30 for half-marathon runners
$25 for the 5K
$15 for the Family Fun Walk
