Details
You'll get to know your fellow competitors in the Long Island Road
Runners Club's Jack Dowling Half Marathon, one of New York's smallest
road race events -- the 2007 running of the event saw 34 runners cross
the finish line in East Meadow's Eisenhower Park. Fast, flat and a
relatively quick race (the last few finishers took just over 2 1/2
hours to complete the race), the course takes runners through the city
streets of East Meadow, through and around the park and along the
city's neighborhood areas.
Open to runners, walkers and wheelchair participants, the race is
considered an excellent tune-up run for the Long Island Marathon
& Half Marathon, which takes place in May.
