New York > More® Magazine/Fitness® Magazine Women's Half Marathon

An all-women's half marathon event that welcomed more than 7,100 runners at the race's spring 2012 running, New York's More Magazine & Fitness Magazine Women's Half Marathon expects another sellout race field at the spring 2013 running, for which prospective entrants are encouraged to sign up early to make sure they secure a place.
In previous years, the race was staged as both a full and a half marathon, with the full marathon designed for women over age 40 and the half marathon for women of all ages. Due to the unseasonably warm weather on the day of the race in April 2009, the event organizers cancelled the full marathon and proceeded with the half marathon, which was raced as an unscored event.
The race takes runners -- and walkers, as the race is open to both -- through the springtime scenery of New York's Central Park, along the trails and roads that wind their way through the park. That means runners and walkers can expect some hilly terrain along the course, which was still being finalized as of this writing.
Race Weather & Climate
Runners should arrive prepared for a variety of weather conditions in New York in the spring, which can be very cool or even unseasonably warm, as was the case for the race's 2009 running. In April, the city's average monthly temperatures range between 61°F and 45°F, while rainfall amounts average about 4.5 inches for the month.
On the day of the race (April 14), the average low is 42°F and the average high is 57°F.
