Details
More than 550 runners took place in last year's running of the
Cannonball Run Half Marathon, 5K and Kids' 1.2-mile race, which takes
place just outside Greensboro and is named for the famed 1980s movie of
the same name. The 13.1-mile course, an out-and-back course
that starts and finishes at Greensboro's Country Park, takes runners
along a course made up entirely of paved city streets and with some
gentle hills thrown in, through tree-lined
neighborhoods and past scenic Lake Brandt around the half-way point in
the race.
All half-marathon finishers in this, the 4th annual running of the
race, receive a custom Cannonball Run Half Marathon race medal. The
event also includes what organizers call the "Fittest Family
Challenge," in which families can compete as a team with their combined
race times.
