Details
Begun as a fundraising event to benefit the North Carolina Jaycee Burn
Center in nearby Chapel Hill, N.C., the Charity Chase Half Marathon
features an out-and-back course that starts and finishes in downtown
Hickory, and takes runners on a tour of this town's natural beauty and
scenic downtown areas. The more than 300 runners who took part in the
2007 running of the event (its 2nd annual) toured areas including
Geitner Park, Lenoir-Rhyne College and the finish line at Union Square
in downtown.
Race
Weather & Climate
The weeks leading up to the official start of summer bring mild to warm
weather to the Hickory area, which is set in the foothills of North
Carolina's Appalachian Mountains. Average temperatures in June range
between 63°F and 84°F, while rainfall averages nearly
4.75 inches for the month.

$30 if registered by May 1, 2008
$40 after May 1
$50 on the day of the race
