Event Details

Follow a half-marathon course that takes runners through two states at the Fargo Marathon & Half Marathon, along a route that begins at the Fargodome and runs through North Dakota's largest city and across the Red River to nearby Moorhead, Minnesota, and back. The course is rich in history and both architectural and natural beauty, as the race unfolds through some of Fargo's most popular tourist attractions in the city called the "Gateway to the West" since its founding back in 1871.

From the starting line at the Fargodome, the loop course for the half follows a slighty zig-zag route through town, along tree-lined streets filled with plenty of enthusiastic spectators, and past sights such as the Fargo Country Club and Rose Creek Golf Course, the Red River, the Milwaukee Bike Trail and the impressive Main Avenue Bridge downtown, which organizers say "is a sight you won't forget." Run entirely along paved city streets, the half-marathon course experiences few changes in elevation throughout the 13.1 miles of the race.

Participants will definitely get a kick out of the finish line, which lies back at the Fargodome -- there's a video monitor there to display each runner crossing the finish line, so you'll get the chance to see yourself as you complete your race, whether it's 13.1 miles, 26.2 miles, or the 5K.
