Starting in Vernonia's Anderson Park, the half marathon takes runners
on a tour of Oregon's Vernonia-Banks State Trail along paved and gravel
surfaces through picturesque woodlands along an abandoned railroad bed.
Generally flat, the course features a few rolling hills and crosses
several roads but is otherwise closed to automobile traffic.
