Details
A combination road running and cycling race, the Double Creek Half
Marathon, 5K and Tour fielded more than 600 bicyclists and runners for
the 2007 running of the event, which unfolded during what race
organizers describe as a beautifully sunny day in this town of just
over 1,800 residents in southeastern Pennsylvania. Set among the
rolling hills of York and Adams counties, the race takes participants
through scenic farmland and across rustic rural bridges, past quaint
country churches and babbling creeks.
The course for this out-and-back race starts and finishes at
Dover’s North Salem Elementary School, and is run entirely
along paved country roads. Gentle, rolling hills are frequently found
throughout the race course for both the running and the cycling events
– and participants can take part in both events, starting
with the half-marathon at 7:00 AM and the bike portion of the event no
later than 9:15 AM.
The event also includes a 5K and a one-mile “fun
run,” which start at 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM, respectively. An
awards ceremony and congratulatory lunch for all Double Creek event
participants – runners and bikers – follows the
finish.

Weather & Climate
Summertime weather conditions tend to be quite favorable for the Dover
area June, which sees average temperatures ranging between 58°F
and 83°F. Come prepared for possible rainfall, as the area
averages just over 4.3 inches of precipitation during the month.

$30 for registrations on the day of the race
