Event
Details
In 2007, the Warren County YMCA celebrated the 10th annual running of
its SuperKwik Challenge Half Marathon, which follows a rolling, hilly
course mostly along this northeastern Pennsylvania town’s
city streets. From the registration area at the Warren County YMCA
downtown, race participants are transported by bus to the starting line
at Kinzua Beach in the nearby town of Mead, which lies just across the
Kinzua Bay.
From there, runners follow the course along Route 59 toward the finish
line back at the YMCA, with terrain made up entirely of paved roads and
including plentiful hills. Prizes will be awarded for the first runner
to reach Kinzua Dam (which occurs shortly after mile 3), for the first
male and female finishers, and for the top 3 overall finishers in each
division. A smaller race as far as the number of participants go, the
SuperKwik Challenge guarantees race t-shirts for the first 75 runners
who pre-register.
