South Carolina > Anne Springs Close Greenway Trail Run Half Marathon & 8K
Fort Mill, SC • Saturday, April 5, 2014 • Course Map
Filled with more than 2,000 acres of wooded forests, wide-open prairie lands, creeks, stream and ponds here near the border between North and South Carolina, the Anne Springs Close Greenway is a protected conservation park filled with more than 30 miles of hiking, walking and horseback riding trails, which play host to the annual springtime running of the ASC Greenway Trail half marathon and five-mile runs.
Organized by the Rock Hill Striders running club, based in nearby Rock Hill, S.C., the race follows an out-and-back course that starts and finishes at the ASC Greenway's Rush Pavilion, located just off Highway 21 along the park's Coltharp Road exit. From there, runners head out onto the trails that wind through the Greenway, made up of a combination of dirt and gravel surfaces with plenty of both hills and scenery, organizers add.
Registration is limited to 150 runners total for both the half marathon and 8K, and runners will be able to register on the morning of the race between 7:00 AM and 8:15 AM.
