Details
Views of the rivers leading into the Charleston harbor as well as
the tree-lined streets of this charming, Southern coastal tourist mecca
will make up much of the course at the inaugural running of the
Riverfront Race Festival, which expects to welcome several hundred
runners and walkers for its first-ever half marathon, 10K, 5K and Fun
Walk on January 16, followed by a 62- and 30-mile cycling race the next day.
Designed as a fundraiser and benefit for ARTS in Charleston County
Schools, the half marathon race will take runners from Riverfront Park
in North Charleston on a route that winds along the city's streets and
neighborhood roads, none of which are far from views of the water and
the Charleston Harbor just to the south.
