Details
One of a series of road races throughout the country organized by Zooma
Women's Running Series -- the others are in Atlanta, Denver and
Annapolis -- the ZOOMA Austin Half Marathon takes runners on a
tour of the hills of the South Texas countryside, along a course that
starts and finishes at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in the town of Bastrop,
just outside
Austin. The race is open to both men and women runners, and is designed
to encourage and celebrate women's fitness with post-race festivities
that include mini spa treatments, live music and a post-race party for
all participants.
The race is run in conjunction with the nonprofit organizations CARE
and Lifeworks, a local Austin charity that supports families and
children in need throughout the Austin metro area with with housing,
counseling and adult education and literacy efforts.
