Filled with plenty of hills, rocks and streams runners will tackle
along the trails of Ogden's Pineview Reservoir, the half-marathon
distance Xduro trail run is making its Utah debut
atthis year's XTERRA Mountain Championship on August 16. The XTERRA
Wheeler Canyon Xduro 21K Trail Run is the fourth and final race in the
2008 XTERRA Utah Trail Run Series, but participation in the previous
three events is not necessary to compete in this challenge. The Xduro
is new to the XTERRA lineup and promises to be the ultimate in trail
running experiences.
XTERRA is known for its extreme, off-road events, and the
XTERRA Wheeler Canyon Xduro will certainly live up to its reputation.
Held at the Pineview Reservoir in Ogden Valley, the spectacular
mountain
views and sparkling water will make runners forget they are challenging
one of the most grueling trail run races around.
In addition to the 21K Xduro, the action-packed weekend includes
twodistances of off-road triathlons, free kids' races, the Breeder's
Choice XTERRA K9 Challenge and K9 Walk, music, food and fun.

Weather & Climate
Typically much warmer in the summer than in the winter, when
temperatures regularly reach the 20s, the city of Ogden usually
experiences warm and relatively dry conditions in the late summer
months, with little rainfall. In August, average monthly temperatures
range between 88°F and 62°F, while rainfall totals
average
around 1.02 inches for the month.
