Event Details

Billed by race organizers as Loudoun County's longest road race and boasting an annual field of about 1,000 runners, the LAWS Run For The Shelter Half Marathon & 5K raises needed funds to support the Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter. Starting out from the race start in Leesburg, both the course for the half-marathon and the 5K race are run along the rolling, beautiful hills of nearby Frankin Park on the outskirts of Purcellville, which features both inner and outer perimeter trails around the park.


Race Weather & Climate

Springtime weather in the Loudon County area can be highly variable, as April temperatures in Leesburg average between 37°F and 66°F. April is also among the area's drier months, with just over 3 1/4 inches of average precipitation.


Fees

$45 for the half marathon, if registered by April 10, 2010
$50 between April 10 - 17
