Details
Designed to coincide with and commemorate the St. Patrick's Day
festivities in this coastal Virginia beach town, the aptly named
Shamrock
Marathon & Half Marathon also features an 8K race and
children's events. The course for the half marathon is a flat, fast
loop course through the streets of the city with the start at Cavalier
Park on 42nd Street, within view of the water, and the finish at the
Virginia Beach Boardwalk on 31st Street. The course for half
participants will be open for four hours, and the event is limited to
6,000 participants.
One HalfMarathons.Net reader Nikki commented on her experience of the
race in 2007: "I would totally run/walk the half-marathon again. I did
it last year and it was amazing. Along with that our hotel was on the
ocean with an ocean view which was so cool. The course is nice in that
it takes you through camp story and its amazing to see everything along
the route."
